Unit sales of both ag tractors and combines continue growth above an already-hot pace set in 2020, according to the latest data from the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM).
U.S. total farm tractor sales climbed 4.8 per cent in October compared to last year, while U.S. self-propelled combine sales jumped 72.9 per cent, the fourth month in a row of growth near or above 20 percent for harvesters, says the organization.

“We’re pleased to see ag equipment sales remain positive, despite the very real supply chain challenges” says Curt Blades, senior vice president of agriculture services at AEM. “We remain optimistic that these positive sales trends will continue along with the ongoing strength in the ag economy.”
Meanwhile in Canada, tractor and combine sales for the month of October were positive as well, with both ag tractors and combines finishing the month in the black, says AEM.
100+hp tractor’s were up 31.1 per cent year-to-date, followed by <40hp at 22.9 per cent, and 40 to 100hp coming in at 18.6 per cent. Total farm tractor sales were up 23.4 per cent, year-to-date.
The biggest growth sectors compared to October of 2020, were in 4WD and self-propelled combines, up 48 and 44.2 per cent, respectively.
