Raven Industries’ OMNiDRIVE showcased on a Case IH Magnum

Standing in front of a Case IH Magnum tractor, you might be wondering why a Raven Industries rep is also standing there.

Well, Raven demonstrated its OMNi suite of technology on the tractor at Farm Progress Show at Decatur, IL, this past week.

Nick Langerock, of Raven Industries, says that it’s an exciting time for the company as this year, back in May, they launched OMNiDRIVE, a driverless technology that allows a cart tractor to sync with a combine.

“It’s a pretty cool technology. What it allows farmers to do is, from the cab of the harvester or the combine, the operator can command the tractor to sync with the combine, in order to unload grain, or it can stage it, or it can send it to and off-load station,” says Langerock.

At harvest time, everyone’s really busy, and Raven feels that this technology can give a lot of efficiency back to the farmer, unloading grain autonomously.

The technology connects, manages, and safely operates autonomous agricultural machinery, and is compatible with:

  • Case IH Magnum CVT (2014-2020 models): M250 / 280 / 310 / 340 / 380 (available in October 2021)
  • New Holland CVT (2014-2020 models): T8.320 / 350 / 380 / 410 / 435 (available in October 2021)
  • John Deere 8Rs Powershift and IVT (2010-current models)

Langerock explains that Raven wants people to experience the technology first-hand (all the more reason to have a demonstration) and that it’s not just something to jump into right away. “This is a path to autonomy, this isn’t something that you just jump into, so you’ve got to get comfortable with the technology, and this is a great way to get comfortable with that.”
