Ontario Sheep Farmers recently updated several online resources for its membership, including a new version of the price and profit predictability tools.

OSF created this farm management tool in partnership with the University of Guelph and the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, and recently assumed ownership and administrative duties of the resource to ensure continued access for provincial sheep producers.

As part of transferring ownership and administration of the tools, Ontario Sheep also made several updates to improve accuracy and ease of use, the producer group says. Pricing predictions for lambs in all weight categories are now available within the updated price predictions for one to four weeks.

“The price and profit predictability tools will continue to be a go-to resource for producers to make decisions and provide information on prices they could expect at auction,” says Marc Carere, chair of OSF. “This updated data goes back seven years, making this tool even more useful for producers and we’re pleased it will remain available on the OSF website.”

Producers can access both the price predictor and profitability tool on the OSF website, here.
