Canada’s Outstanding Young Farmers Program is hosting its virtual conference on December 4, starting with their annual meeting and featuring guest speakers focused on looking ahead to what the next big opportunities and challenges are for Canadian agriculture.

RealAgriculture’s Shaun Haney is also a part of the event as a keynote speaker, presenting on “5 Key Things Coming in Agriculture.”

Register to attend the event.

Canada’s Outstanding Young Farmers Program recognizes farmers between 18 and 39 who “exemplify excellence” in their profession. Each year one farmer or farming couple is selected from each of the program’s seven regional events to represent their respective region to a panel of judges. Out of those seven, two are selected as Canada’s Outstanding Young Farmers. This year, unfortunately, there will be no competition due to COVID-related issues preventing some regions from holding meetings.

The conference will also feature a panel of previous winners from across the country as far back as 1993 and as recent as 2017. Previous program participants will share what’s changed since winning, where their operations are at currently, and where they see the industry going in the next 40 years.
