Salford and Case IH buddy up on booms

Salford Group, Inc. and Case IH are partnering to supply Salford’s air boom application technology on the Case IH Titan Floaters chassis.

The combination of  Salford’s 350 cubic foot hopper design and 72-foot air boom will be known as the Case IH FA 1030, and will be available on the Case IH Titan 4540, with plans to make the FA 1030 available for 3540 Titan floater models in July 2021.

Salford’s Valmar division, acquired five years ago, has over 40 years of experience in the design and manufacturing of Venturi pneumatic applicators.

“The window to perform critical operations in crop production seems to be getting shorter all the time, and producers are trying to cover the same acres with less people,” says Brad Baker, VP sales and marketing for Salford Group. “That crunch means it’s more crucial than ever for commercial applicators and broadacre crop producers whose equipment is fast, accurate and reliable.”

The Venturi granular applicator, pioneered by Valmar, is simple to operate, easy to maintain, very accurate, and reliable, Salford says. Over the years, the Venturi applicator has improved distribution uniformity in a variety of applications, and added left/right section control for more targeted product applications.

Salford says it has further improved on the design, by making the applicators larger, both in capacity and application width. Improvements also include the ability to travel at high ground speeds while increasing application rates, and introducing flexible, multi-product hopper designs capable of applying multiple products, each at varying rates, the company says.
