Canadian Dairy XPO cancels for 2020, poultry show set for November

The Canadian Dairy XPO (CDX) has announced that its 2020 event, originally scheduled for April 1 and 2 and subsequently postponed, has now officially been cancelled.

A statement from CDX says the final decision to cancel the Stratford, Ont., dairy industry showcase “was ultimately made by government and health officials with significant parameters around large-scale events and gatherings”.

“Our first and foremost priority is for the health and safety of our dairy farm families, dairy industry, team CDX and the residents of Stratford,” said the release. “Our second priority is the sustainability for CDX, ensuring we can operate and grow to benefit dairy farm families and the dairy industry for the next 100-plus years.”

The CDX will return in 2021 with the show date set for April 7 and 8.

The dairy show’s sister event — The Canadian Poultry XPO — will still take place. The inaugural poultry show is set for Nov. 4 and 5, 2020 in Stratford.
