Farmers Feed Cities Measures Agricultures Impact in Ontario

If the numbers don’t lie, organizations like Farmers Feed Cities and the agricultural community at large have a lot of work to do. According to a recent study by that organization, 97 percent of Ontario residents agree that farming is important to the future of the province yet only 41 percent of 18 to 34 year olds in Ontario are aware of where their food comes from.

Regardless of the reasons for that, Farmers Feed Cities feels strongly in their mission to remedy this issue.  The organizations goal is to promote a greater understanding of the significant impact agriculture has on the well being the province of Ontario. Jenny Van Rooy is the Campaign Coordinator for Farmers Feed Cities. I spoke to her about their recent study and what’s behind those alarming numbers.
