Global Wheat Outlook – Bruce Burnett, CWB

Across North America everyone is talking about the bullish tone of corn and soybeans. Is wheat going to be the weaker sister in 2011? How much higher will the wheat price have to go to buy some acres back from corn, soybeans, canola and lentils. Some farmers and analysts are even saying that the attention that is being paid to some of these other crops has a price benefit for wheat in 2011.

There was close to a record winter wheat crop planted in Ontario this fall so there is an interest in planting wheat even with the opportunities in other crops.

I talked to Bruce Burnett, Canadian Wheat Board about what he feels is the global outlook for wheat.  Bruce talks about what is happening in Australia, the American midwest and the global supply and demand equation.
